Bygone, contemplation of a dystopia

Révolu is a silent journey through French Alpine resorts, captured out of season. In it, Michel Lafleur documents the footprint of human presence within architectures designed for movement and celebration. Over four years, he photographed these territories of concrete, glass, and wood, abandoned by their crowds. Through an architectural lens, he reveals a world in suspension. Far from the spectacular, his perspective examines our relationship with the landscape, habitat, progress, and the very idea of leisure. Révolu questions the future of these places that have become symbols of a model at its breaking point. Must we reinvent the mountain, rethink its use, or simply accept ruin as a form of memory? A visual meditation on the ephemeral, excess, and the end of a collective dream.
